Information For Authors

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

The manuscript is construed as the original text submitted for publication in the Journal.

Submitting a manuscript to the Journal implies that the authors accept U.C.B. and journal regulations and agree that, if their document is accepted for publication, the U.C.B. will have the copyright to distribute it in both printed and electronic format.

The content and concepts issued in the manuscripts are the authors' sole responsibility and do not necessarily reflect the position of the U.C.B., the publisher or the Journal.

The research must meet the standards set forth in the criteria for academic peer review, be original, belong in its authorship to those referred to in the manuscript, and respect academic ethics. Likewise, the manuscripts must not have been previously published or previously submitted for publication, with the exceptions set forth in Ethics and Good Practices section For the Authors.

Those authors of the manuscript must identify themselves and indicate their institutional affiliation; if they do not have it, they must state that they are independent researchers. Additionally, they must express their ORCID registration number. Registration in this database can be done at https://orcid.org

The Journal's official publication languages are Spanish and English. However, U.C.B. Law Review may publish in other languages.

The Journal will publish mainly research evaluated anonymously and favorably in its formal, material, and methodological merit by academic peers. The Journal will refer to the publication dates and approval of the research in its publications.

Communications between the Journal, the authors, and the evaluation bodies will be made by email.

The reception of the manuscripts is continuous. The Journal reserves the prerogative to establish the order of publication of the manuscripts received and approved by peer reviewers, in consideration of the natural time required by their observation-correction-approval process, as well as the availability or arrangement of each issue, based on the criteria that the Journal freely decides.

U.C.B. entirely funds the Journal. The submission, review, and publication of manuscripts are free.

 REVIEW AND DECISION PROCESS

The editorial board will evaluate the manuscript and may accept or reject it according to its merits and the profile of the Journal. The editorial board may exercise this power at any time until before the publication of the manuscript and does not need to give reasons for its decision. In case of acceptance, the manuscript will be edited and sent to an academic peer reviewer.

To issue their evaluations, the arbitrators will have a reasonable period according to the complexity and length of the manuscript.

The observations communicated to the authors must be corrected within a reasonable time to be established by the editor.

The Journal will grant criteria for the academic peer review regarding clarity, coherence (between what is proposed, analyzed, and concluded), structure, relevance and pertinence, methodology and scientific rigor, sustenance, adequate sources, academic discussion on findings, supported conclusions and originality (contribution and novelty) of the research.

The opinion on the research by academic peers must be motivated. The possible decisions of the opinion on the manuscript are a) acceptance for publication, b) publishable with minor corrections, c) publishable after substantial revision, and d) rejection of publication.

The Journal's Manuscript Evaluation Form for Academic Peers must be completed, signed, and sent by the academic peer.

The editor will communicate the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript to whoever submitted it to the Journal for review and publication and may keep the motivation of the opinion confidential.
