Exceptions to the Originality and Prior Publication Requirement
The sole exceptions to the requirement for unpublished work are manuscripts constituting adaptations, elaborations, or direct derivations of the author's own unpublished undergraduate or postgraduate thesis, or expanded versions of papers previously presented at academic conferences or lectures. In such exceptional cases, authors must keep verbatim extracts to an absolute minimum, appropriately cite the original work in the reference list, and transparently disclose its origin on the first page of the manuscript.
