About the Journal

HISTORY AND MISSION

U.C.B. Law Review’s first issue was in October 2007 under the aegis of the Faculty of Law of the Universidad CatólicaBoliviana “San Pablo” (UCB) - La Paz.

The journal’s mission is to disseminate legal, scientific and original research to contribute to the knowledge of Law, development, plural dialogue and the generation of good legal practices within the framework of human rights. It is aimed at academics, students and legal professionals, as well as public policymakers. The journal’s publications are primarily theoretical, deontic, practical, and applied concerning local, regional, and global legal analysis.

LINES OF RESEARCH

The main lines of research of the journal are:

  1. Social law. Labor, childhood and family.
  2. Philosophy, history, ethics and morals.
  3. Human rights, pluralism, legal protection, justice and culture of peace.
  4. Civil and commercial law.
  5. Environment, natural resources and energy.
  6. Institutions, administration, penal law, international relations and sovereignty.

 PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

The journal is published in print (ISSN 2521-8808) and online at lawreview.ucb.edu.bo (ISSN 2523-1510) every six months in April and October, although it can also publish special non-periodic issues. The journal is included in Google Scholar.

The content of the journal is published under a Creative Commons license in the attribution – non-commercial - share alike license (BY-NC-SA): commercial use of the original work or of possible derived works is not allowed, the distribution of which must be done with a license equal to that which regulates the original work.
